These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Ur Next Door neighborhood Q&A and community platform (the “Service”), operated by Ur Next Door (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are a minor under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate registration information and to keep it current.
- You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
- You may not impersonate any person or entity, or use a username that is offensive, that you have no right to use, or that is intended to mislead.
4. Your content & license
“Your Content” means anything you submit to the Service - including posts, questions, answers, polls, MCQs, comments, profile details, and uploaded media.
You retain ownership of Your Content. By submitting it, you grant Ur Next Door a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sub-licensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for example, to format or re-encode media), publish, publicly display and distribute, and otherwise use Your Content in connection with operating, promoting, and improving the Service. This license continues for content that others have shared or interacted with even after you remove the original.
You represent and warrant that:
- you own or have the necessary rights to Your Content and to grant the license above; and
- Your Content does not infringe or violate the rights of any third party or any law.
You acknowledge that the Service is public and that Your Content may be indexed by search engines and accessed by AI crawlers, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to, and not to allow anyone else to:
- Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, threatening, obscene, or that incites violence or discrimination;
- Post sexual content involving minors, or any content that exploits or endangers children;
- Infringe intellectual-property rights or misappropriate trade secrets;
- Publish another person’s private or personal information without consent (“doxxing”);
- Distribute spam, scams, malware, or deceptive, manipulative, or fraudulent content;
- Manipulate votes, reputation, reactions, or rankings, including through bots or multiple accounts;
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data except as expressly permitted by our robots.txt, or place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems, or interfere with the Service’s security or operation;
- Misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization, or otherwise violate any applicable law or regulation.
6. Moderation & removal
We may, but are not obligated to, review, monitor, and moderate content. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to remove or restrict any content and to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms or that we believe is harmful to the Service or its users. If you encounter content that violates these Terms, please report it to us at support@urnextdoor.com.
7. Our intellectual property
The Service itself - including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and the Ur Next Door name and branding - is owned by Ur Next Door or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for Your Content and for content made available under an open license, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service without our prior written permission.
8. Third-party content & links
The Service hosts content created by other users and may contain links to third-party websites, products, and advertising. We do not endorse and are not responsible for third-party content, websites, or services. Content posted by users reflects the views of those users, not of Ur Next Door. Your dealings with third parties are solely between you and them.
9. Disclaimers
The Service and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any content is accurate, reliable, or complete.
Content on the Service is contributed by community members and is not professional advice. It is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, safety, or other expert advice. Rely on it at your own risk and verify important information independently.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ur Next Door and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim, or INR 1,000.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ur Next Door and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination - including content licenses for content already shared, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnities - will survive.
13. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that the competent courts of India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing in this section limits any mandatory rights you may have as a consumer under the laws of India.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service.
